New Video - High Altitude: Preservation Projects in Remote Nepali Borderlands of Tsum
Invited in by remote communities for preservation of their village temple sacred art treasures, this video shares with stunning videos and images what is really like to work in high altitudes where few people outside of the ancient culture travel. An online presentation with Prof. Miroj Shakya of University of the West, the video begins introducing the approach of Treasure Caretaker Training (TCT), the USA preservation non-profit, that emphasizes risk assessment and documentation, and then invites you into the two village temples that TCT conservators spent hands-on time in, working closely with community members. The video ends with a lively Q&A session.
